What Happens When You're Hacked? We've seen it time and again: a customer's machine is screaming, the fan is blazing, and the disk is maxed out at 100% in Task Manager - it's a sure sign of trouble, often malware or a hijacked system, and it's a nightmare to deal with, especially when extortion is involved. Recently, we had a case where a customer's cloud account was compromised, and they were being extorted for money - it was a harrowing experience for them, and we had to act fast to contain the damage and secure their system . Do This, Not That: Password Managers When it comes to securing your online accounts, we see people reaching for the easy option: using the same password across multiple sites - but we'd recommend using a reputable password manager instead, as it's the better approach, allowing you to generate and store unique, complex passwords for each site, making it much harder for hackers to gain access to your data. On the other hand, using the same password everywhere is a recipe for disaster - if one site is compromised, all your accounts are at risk - we've seen this happen to customers who've had their data stolen and it's a long, painful process to recover. Do This, Not That: Two-Factor Authentication Another common mistake people make is not enabling two-factor authentication (2FA) on their accounts - we'd recommend switching it on, as it adds an additional layer of security, making it much harder for hackers to gain access to your data, even if they have y
