What's the best way to keep my computer secure? We see this a lot: customers who think their computer is secure, but actually, it's wide open to threats. We'd recommend starting with strong passwords - not just for your user account, but also for your Wi-Fi network and any other online services you use. Use a mixture of letters, numbers, and special characters, and try to make them as unique as possible. We'd also advise against using the same password for multiple accounts - if one account is compromised, you don't want all your other accounts to be at risk too. How often should I back up my files? Backing up your files is crucial - we've seen customers lose important documents and photos due to a hardware fault or malware infection. We'd recommend backing up your files at least once a week, but ideally every day if you're working on important projects. You can use an external hard drive or cloud storage service like Microsoft 365 or Google Drive. Just make sure you're using a secure connection and that your backups are encrypted. What's the best antivirus software to use? We've tried a lot of different antivirus software over the years, and we'd recommend using a reputable brand like Norton or Kaspersky. These programs will scan your computer for malware and viruses, and alert you if they find anything suspicious. Just remember to keep your antivirus software up to date - new threats are emerging all the time, so you need to make sure your software is equipped to deal with
